Hehehehe. I have the version with 9600m GT graphics card (FTW). It has 1GB DEDICATED, all these games come to me and i own them with my graphy card.

This is probably a ridiculous question, but being barely above an amateur computer user, I could sure use an answer.

I’d like to know if I can use a SDHC card in this compute? It’s the HC (high density) designation I’m worried about, and I can’t find anything to indicate whether I’ll damage computer or card if I use one.

Hey guys,im from Greece and i have my AS6930 for about 6 months.It works perfect with dualboot and the 9600gt is powerfull.The only problem i have is that the volume slider sometimes turns the volume down without touching it and it keeps doing that.Is there any way to disable the slider?Or better to fix that damn thing?

I love my Acer 6930 but it is the noisiest I have ever used. It sounds like it is constantly ‘running’ (for lack of a better word). Has anyone else noticed this? Is this normal for this model of Acer? Please help. I have a few more days to try it out and if something is wrong I can return it.

My mistake about the battery was to leave it in the laptop while it was plugged in. I killed the life of it and now it only has ten minutes worth of power. Advice would be to charge your battery and then take it out if it’s going to be plugged in to an outlet. Same goes with cell phones and camcorders. Hope this helps others.

I noticed that too, so i figured the data is another internal hardrive so you can transfer documents, music, videos, etc. to the data side. acer bar is your default. At least that’s how i use it

Hello,
I received this laptop as a Christmas gift to replace an old one, and I honestly wish I could have read this before my Dad bought it. Definitely not saying that there is anything wrong with it, because I do love it, and it works great for what I use it for, I just wish it was smaller and more “carry-to-class” friendly.

Many thanks – I just used this to install Ubuntu 9.04 (for which the hd-media archive path needs to say ‘jaunty’ of course) and it’s perfect. Not only saves a CDR, but a lot of time, too.

I did see the same yenta_socket modprobing error that Tarun mentioned. Every time the installer was scanning buses for hardware (networking, disks, etc), it tried to load the yenta_socket (cardbus) module and threw an error. My guess is that the hd-media vmlinuz image lacks the right hooks for that module, or something like that. I don’t have cardbus devices so it wasn’t a problem. Also, after rebooting into the fresh install there are no problems with the module anymore.

I wat to reinstall windows from scratch.
Please can somebody give me step by step directions on how to do this, i obviously need to save all my data, currently i am backing up & this will be saved i think on data d bu i cant be sue, i am an amateur at this. Not sure if i need dvds also.
Any advice welcomed.
