Who am I?

I’m Jesse Bye, and I live in Northern California, USA. Currently, I’m president of Bye Designs, doing web design, development, tech support, as well as piano lessons. I’ve finished lower-division coursework for a BS in Computer Science, and hope to transfer to a four-year university to finish out my degree sometime in the next few years. In my free time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, studying Japanese, learning martial arts, and watching silent films.

Windows, Mac, or Linux?

Well, truthfully, I’ve run a mixture of all of the above for the past ten years or so. I tend to buy and sell computers quite frequently, and so I get to try a variety of platforms. Currently, my primary computer is a Mac Mini.

What is the name supposed to mean?

Well, originally when I created this blog I was going to express my deepest thoughts on life and reality. I couldn’t think of anything deep and mysterious, so I came up with Actual Reality. Although the blog content has taken a different direction than I originally planned for, I believe that the name is still fitting.

What do those characters mean?

Basically, they are somewhat of a translation of the blog’s title to Japanese. Together they mean “actual condition”, “true state”, or “reality”.
